Pacific Rim: Uprising, released in 2018, takes place ten years after the events of the first film. The Kaiju threat has subsided, and humanity is rebuilding its shattered cities with Jaeger technology. However, a new breed of Kaiju emerges, forcing Jake Pentecost, the son of Stacker Pentecost, to follow in his father's footsteps and become a Jaeger pilot.
